Who would win the battle between Sky and our politicians?

As everyone who reads this blog knows I'm not a fan of Rupe Murdoch. And this is to put it mildly!!!

However I do wonder who would win the battle for the public's mind if there was a battle between the politicians and Murdoch over Sky.

You see a parliamentary report was soured by a partisan attack on Murdoch which went far beyond the official subject of the committee. The labour members condemned Murdoch as being unfit to own a tv station. They referred the matter to the tv regulator with what some would see as unfortunate political pressure. They want Murdoch stripped of Sky tv.

Would the public support the destruction of their Sky tv or would they turn on the MPs?

The danger is that for many the phone hacking scandal is an unimportant 'beltway' issue obsessing an out of touch political elite seeking revenge on a media who exposed their corruption.

If they lose their sport, movies, and tv will they turn on these selfsame MPs.

If they do will Murdoch be the final winner?

What comes first politics, the law, or the public?

Who has the power in reality?
