The war on cheap booze showing political impotency

Apparently the government is going to declare war on cheap booze and going to make us all pay more for our alcohol.

I'm sorry but this is rather pathetic.

Now I'm not downplaying the terrible cost on people and society of alcohol abuse. I've seen people being destroyed by alcohol, and who has not seen the devastation caused by drunks, or felt the tinge of fear when we espy a drunken group walking toward us.

The damage caused is immense.

However making the working person suffer for the actions of a few is wrong.

More than that it has the whiff of fiddling as the economy burns. It's as if the minor things are gaining importance because they lack the power, ability, or ideas to fix the massive problems our country faces.

That's scary.

However if they are so keen on stopping us having cheap booze are they going to stop having the taxpayers subsidising their champaign and whiskey in parliament?

If cheap booze is so wrong it must be wronger for the taxpayer to give our MPs dirt cheap alcohol. It could even be seen as the taxpayer abusing our poor cosseted MPS. That would never do!

Is this the most important issue the country faces........really? If they think so we are all screwed.
