It is sad news that one of the grand old masters of British comedy that is Frank Carson has passed away at the age of 85.
Frank had funny bones. His jokes may have been delightfully ancient but he was an inherently funny. You cannot learn that. He was a natural.
My mother met Frank several times over the years. She's the most insightful of judges and has always said that Frank was the funniest and most friendly of men. He was also that rarest of things: unlike most stars, even those with a cuddly image, he treated everyone as an equal. It didn't matter if they were a lord or a waitress all merited his attention and respect.
That's rare and laudable.
So my deepest sympathy to Frank's family and many friends. He was a remarkable man. He'll be missed and we will not see his like agian.
