More Sun Arrests

The News International rag the Sun is one of the worst papers out there. It, and the Mirror, Daily Star, and Daily Express (under their new porn Barron owner), are symptomatic of the worst of the tabloids.

So I am glad that five more Sun staff have been arrested for alleged crimes. I hope if they are guilty they face justice just as I hope all those who have broken the law face the consequences of their actions. This includes the Guardian and the BBC. It's about law breaking not a judgement on who they work for.

Three other people were arrested for basically taking money to provide confidential information. One is a police officer, which is bad. However we all know that some corrupt police make a very handsome living selling information to the press, this is what a Guardian journalist is currently under arrest for. This has always happened. It's always been wrong.

However what I find sickening in the arrest of a Ministry of Defence worker and a serving member of the armed forces.

The only information these two had of interest to the tabloids is about service personnel killed or injured in action, the disabled and the bereaved families.

How could anyone in the armed services, or who works with them, throw the dead, injured, or bereaved, to the rabid tabloid press for money?

Where is the decency? Where the common humanity?
