It's not an 'affair': it's rape!

 Michael Yardley was a Police Community Support Officer who has thankfully been sent to jail for having sex with a twelve year old child. 

 

His actions are sickening. There is no excuse for such vile acts. 

 

I hope the child can overcome this depraved man's actions and not have her life blighted as so many before her have. 

 

However I find the Mail on Sunday's reporting of this unbelievable. 

 

The headline is 

 

PCSO who had seven-month affair with 12-year-old girl jailed for rape after they were caught together on sofa by his wife

 

This wasn't an affair or romantic encounter. This was a man raping a child. To use the term affair when describing the sexual abuse of a child is sick. 

 

The Mail should be sashayed of themselves. 

 

At times like these I honestly think that some in our media have lost all moral perspective. We have seen where this disconnect leads.
